Jordan River Parkway
In the 1980's, Salt Lake County began the planning and acquisition of land around the Jordan River with the vision of developing a trail system that would run from the mouth of the Jordan River at Utah Lake through Salt Lake County toward the Great Salt Lake; additional plans even extend it north into Davis County. In addition to trail systems, the Jordan River Parkway has done much to improve the quality of Jordan River area. The parkway trails wind through wetlands with cattails willows, foxes, and a variety of bird life. Park benches and picnic tables can be found at shady and scenic spots along the trail.
At present many miles of paved trails-for cycling, jogging, and blading-have been completed from 2100 to 4800
South, from 9800 South to 10600, and 17000 South to the Utah County Line. By Summer 2005, Spring View Farms will
add an additional 4.5 miles of paved trails between Bangerter Highway and 14600 South along with a community park,
a major trailhead at 14600 South and other amenities such as ponds, streams, and picnic areas.

The Jordan River Parkway Trail system was funded through ZAP taxes.
